Jamshedpur, June 30: Paryavaran Pehal team on Thursday organized a seminar on ‘Environment and Development’ at Genius Institute of Information Technology (GIIT) campus in Bistupur.
Speaking at the meet, Manoj Kumar Singh, convener of the team, said, �Unless we change the current development model and lifestyle, there will be no solution to environmental crisis around the world and sustainable development will only as a slogan in the world stage.� �
According to Singh, sustainable development model should be erected living in tune with nature and assuming the common heritage of natural resources.
Om Prakash, director of GIIT, said, �Air pollution has increased in and around Jamshedpur and there is also a water scarcity.�
The students and teachers of the institute will plant two saplings each in the month of July, he informed.
Rakesh Pandey, Roshan Kumar, Amarnath along with students of the institute were present at the seminar.
