Jamshedpur, August 30: Kerala Public School hosted the Seed Day Celebration on August 30 marking a significant event aimed at fostering environmental responsibility. Manorama Nair, Chairperson, was the Chief Guest, with notable attendees including Sharat Chandran, School Director; Lakshmi Sharat, Academic Director; Sharmila Mukherjee, Principal; Alamelu Ravishankar, Headmistress; and Sangeetha Samanta, Chief QERI.
The celebration aimed to instil a sense of duty towards protecting Mother Earth and making the school an eco-friendly space. Headmistress Alamelu Ravishankar opened the event, outlining the activities undertaken by pre-primary students as part of the project. The students showcased their commitment through a compelling dance and drama performance themed “Save Mother Earth,” followed by a speech and a choral recitation focused on environmental awareness.
The dignitaries praised the event for its impact and enthusiasm. A key highlight was the germination activity, where students planted seeds in small pots, supported by guests and dignitaries, emphasizing the “Going Green” initiative. A musical skit on “Save Earth” and “Say No to Plastic” was performed, accompanied by engaging games.
The celebration concluded with a token of appreciation for the chief guests and the National Anthem. The event, led by Tr Devleena’s vote of thanks, successfully promoted environmental consciousness and encouraged students to take an active role in safeguarding the planet.
