No tolerance for alcohol consumption
Jamshedpur, Nov 26: Strict security measures are being implemented at popular picnic and tourist spots across the district to ensure the safety of visitors during the picnic season. The district police have begun preparations to deploy additional personnel and resources at high-traffic locations such as Jubilee Park, Dimna Lake, Tata Zoo, Telco Hudco Dam, and Kandrabeda on NH-33.
Armed police personnel will be stationed at these locations to maintain safety and prevent anti-social activities. Additional forces, including members of the Quick Response Team (QRT) and traffic police, will also be deployed to ensure smooth operations. The QRT will include private security guards from Panther Security, who will be stationed at strategic locations.
The enhanced security measures will be in place from the first week of December through January 10, with over 200 police officers, including women personnel, assigned to picnic spots and major roads leading to these areas. Checkposts will be set up along routes to popular destinations like Dimna, Ghatshila, and Patamda to monitor and intercept individuals carrying alcohol or engaging in unlawful behavior.
“Special vigilance will be maintained at dam sites, waterfalls, and other prominent spots. Preparations are being made for security at picnic spots where police will be in deployed,” said SSP Kishore Kaushal.
In addition to maintaining public safety, authorities have emphasized that strict action will be taken against those found consuming or carrying alcohol at these locations. Visitors are urged to cooperate with the police and adhere to rules to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
These measures aim to prevent incidents and ensure a secure environment for tourists and local visitors during the holiday season.
