Security forces destroy Naxalite camp in Chaibasa, top leaders neutralized

 
Jamshedpur: In a meticulously planned and executed joint operation, security forces, comprising Chaibasa Police, CRPF units (209, 203, 205 kg), Jharkhand Jaguar, and CRPF teams (60 kg, 197 kg, 157 kg, 174 kg, 193 kg, 134), dealt a significant blow to the banned CPI (Mao) Naxalite organization. The operation targeted key leaders, including Misir Besra, Anmale, Maechhu, Chaman, Kande, Ajay Mahta, Sagden Angriya, and Ashwin, along with their squad members in the Ka Lahan area.
Quoting a statement from the joint expeditionary team, “This operation was a result of persistent intelligence efforts and collaboration among various security units. Our goal was to dismantle the Naxalite infrastructure and neutralize their top leadership, disrupting their subversive activities in the region.”
The joint campaign, initiated on October 10, 2023, covered villages under Gailkera police station, including Kuida, Chhota Kuida, Maradiri, Meralgada, Hathiburu, Tilayabeda Boypaissang, Katamba, Bayhatu, Bora Ey, and border areas of Lemsadih. Subsequently, operations extended to Tanta police station areas, encompassing Husipi, Rajabasa, Tumbahaka, Regada, Patatorab, Gagburu, Luiya.
According to a local eyewitness, “The security forces have been actively engaging with the local communities, gathering information and building trust. This joint operation is a testament to their commitment to eradicating the Naxalite threat from our midst.”
The operation focused on the wild and hilly area between Tilaybeda and Sarjomburu under Goilakera/Tonta police station. An old temporary Naxalite camp was identified, where approximately 15 individuals were believed to be residing. The security forces successfully demolished the camp, neutralizing the occupants.
In an official recovery report, the following items were seized from the Naxalite camp:
Naxalite green uniform – 1, Naxalite Red Flag – 1, 9T Battery – 8, Duracell Battery – 14
Battery – 2, Black wire – 12 feet, Syringe – 10 pcs, Medicines (Saline, Syrup, Moov Spray, etc.), Shoes/slippers – 3 pairs, Bowl Digging tool, Cloth and plastic bags, other daily use items.
Commenting on the success of the operation, the superintendent of police stated, “This operation is a significant achievement in our ongoing efforts against Naxalite activities. We remain committed to ensuring the safety and security of the local population and will continue with anti-Naxal operations in the region.”
The successful joint operation highlights the effectiveness of collaborative efforts among different security units and serves as a milestone in the ongoing fight against Naxalite insurgency in the area. The forces’ dedication and strategic planning have undoubtedly made the region safer for its residents. Anti-Naxal operations will persist to maintain long-term peace and stability.
