Jamshedpur: A spy and sympathiser of banned ultra outfit People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) was arrested from Gandekdah village under Bandhgaon police station of West Singhbhum district.
The accused Niral Topno used to work for the banned outfit and had hidden explosives at her house.
The team from district police and CRPF raided Topno�s house seized explosive products, 8 cartilages, uniform of the outfit and a mobile.
Superintendent of Police N K Singh informed that during interrogation the accused has confessed his crime and said that the explosives were meant to be used against the security forces.
� He used to work as a spy for PLFI and on the directions of zonal commander Jiden Gudia and area commander Sanichar Surin Toppno had hidden the explosives at his home. He also used to pass information of police activities to the ultras. During the probe he has also revealed names for the persons working for the ultras. The police have filed the list and will work to further nab the ultras.
Meanwhile the police have filed cases under 17 criminal law (amendment) act and Indian Explosives (amendment) act against the Topno.
“Acting on a tip off the team of police and para-military forces raided. After an interrogation of the rebel and the subsequent search, the team finally discovered the explosives,” said the SP.
Sources informed that the police have decided to ensure strict vigil and deploy additional security forces in the fringe areas.
�Security has been beefed up in the area and they were keeping strict vigil on movement of the Naxalites. The plan is to keep a tab on the camps being operated by ultras,� said another official.
