Jamshedpur: Police arrested one Mohammad Hafiz with arms at Mango Chowk on Saturday.
Superintendent of police (city) Kartik S said the accused was caught by cops on duty near Mango Chowk. A mob was running after the accused suspected of trying to steal a motorcycle. The cops chased Hafiz to some distance and succeeded in nabbing him, the SP said.
�During interrogation, the accused spilled the beans and told police he was planning to steal a motorcycle. He admitted that the arms belonged to him and that he was an accused of a loot case lodged with the MGM police station,� said the SP.
Cops said the accused, a resident of Old Purulia Road, Azadnagar, carried a country-made pistol of 0.315 mm calibre loaded with a bullet.
An FIR was lodged against Hafiz in this connection with the Mango police station.
