Security beefed up at Tatanagar Railway Station ahead of Republic Day

Jamshedpur, Jan 21: Security has been tightened in major stations including Tatanagar of Chakradharpur Railway Division in view of Republic Day. At the same time, the railway administration has decided not to book parcels in trains going from Chakradharpur Railway Division to Delhi from 23 to 26 January.

In this regard, Senior DCM Manish Kumar Pathak said that on 26 January, VIP movement increases in Delhi. Along with this, those who spread panic also become active. There is a possibility of sending explosive goods through parcels. This is the reason that from 23 to 26 January, parcel booking has been banned in the trains going from Chakradharpur Railway Division to Delhi.                                                                       

Trains passing through Delhi have also been asked not to book parcels for Delhi. There will be no parcel booking in the trains that will open from January 23 to 26 from Delhi and nearby stations. Senior DCM said that passengers can take luggage with them in passenger trains. There is no restriction on this. However, passengers carrying luggage will also be allowed outside the station premises only after thorough screening.

Rajdhani Express, Purushottam Express, Utkal Express, Orissa Samparkkranti Express, Haldia Anand Vihar Terminal Express, Santragachi Anand Vihar Terminal Express, Bhubaneswar New Delhi Rajdhani Express go towards Delhi via Tatanagar and Chakradharpur stations of Chakradharpur Railway Division.

Railway Protection Force has issued a high alert in Tatanagar, Chakradharpur, Rourkela, Jharsuguda and other stations of Chakradharpur Railway Division regarding the CPI-Maoist captive and Republic Day from January 21 to 27.

During this, Railway Protection Force personnel have been deployed in civil dress along with platforms in trains. Apart from this, a team of dog squad has been deployed at Tatanagar, Rourkela stations to investigate suspicious items. On the other hand, Senior DCM Manish Kumar Pathak appealed to the people that if any suspicious object is found in trains and stations, immediately inform the RPF, GRP or railway employees. Railway Protection Force and GRP personnel are deployed round the clock for the safety of passengers in stations and trains.
