According to him, prior to this, the roads in important localities like Bistupur, Sakchi and Golmuri were being given priority of the CCTV camera installation but now sensitive areas like Mango, Jugsalai and Sakchi will be covered. The camera will help in easily identifying people involved in anti-social activities in the area. The police department will ensure that the large number of CCTV cameras installed to monitor traffic offences is incorporated into the new system.
It is also a testing time for the city police in the wake of a spurt in crimes like snatching, burglary and group clashes in the city. Taking lesson from the past incidents the district administration is not ready to take any chance on the security front.
