Section 144 to be in force till Jan 14 in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Jan 5: Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code will be in force in the urban parts of East Singhbhum till 14^th January. It was clamped after Supreme Court gave its verdict in Ayodhya title dispute case. District administration had taken the initiative with the view to ensure peace in the wake of the Apex Court verdict.

As per the administrative order, the prohibitory order was to be effective till 4^th January. In view of ongoing protests against Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizens, the date was extended, sources said.
