Ranchi: Taking serious view of the non-payment of Rs. 1.5 lakh as compensation to a girl burnt by lantern in Giridih, the Secretary to the CM Sunil Kumar Barnwal today said that the girl must be sent money at the earliest.
He said the officials concerned should coordinate with the CM secretariat, Ranchi and pay the girl compensation immediately. The girl was burnt seriously with studying under the light of a lantern. Barnwal was reviewing Jan Samvad complaints and actions taken upon it. He also directed electricity department nodal officer to show cause why the compensation was delayed and directed to ensure compensation to the family members in one week’s time.
In another case, the Secretary held the PDS nodal officer responsible for not paying the money for three years after getting the food grain lifted. He wanted to know why the payment got delayed and directed the officials concerned to write to the PDS Secretary and inform him about the matter to ensure action on the responsible nodal officer.
Regarding not being able to rectify the mistake in pay fixation of Subhash Chandra Dey working with Health and Family Welfare Department even in six months, the Secretary directed the nodal officer to show cause the person responsible for the work and sort out the problem soon.
With regard to the delay in the appointment of one Sona Devi after her husband’s killing by the extremists, Barnwal was told that she has been given the compensation and that the service was finalized on Tuesday. The Secretary also directed the district officials concerned to remove encroachment from the Barharwa panchayat building with the help of police and deputing a magistrate.
Simultaneously, he directed to free Sahideo High School, Kharondha, Garhwa from encroachment. He also directed a probe into the alleged acceptance of honorarium from two places by a para teacher of Birgaon, Ranchi. The DSE was told to probe the matter himself.
Barnwal said that not paying the worker after getting the work done should be stopped and Gulam Sarwar, ECG technician at Chainpur community health center must be paid in a week. He also said to ensure that Ajay Kumar, son of late Geeta Devi, gets access to his mother’s bank account and withdraws the fund. Discrepancy in connection of 100 toilet construction in Hazaribag was found to be incorrect as all the toilets are functional.
Salary of five officers withheld in Palamu
Dhanbad topped while Jamshedpur stood second in showing slackness in disposal of complaints this week. The Secretary directed to dispose the pending 818 complaints very soon. Palamu was on third position. The nodal officer said the salary of officers not disposing complaints has been withheld.
