Jamshedpur, March 25: The second edition of [email protected] is all set to liven up Jamshedpur. The event is scheduled on this Sunday, March 27, from 5.30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. at the Bistupur Main Road.
Taking a cue from the “Rahagiri” organized at Gurgaon, Mumbai, and Bhubaneswar, the steel city has embraced the concept of vehicle-free streets on Sundays, under the banner [email protected] to promote good health, street food, sports and fun activity.
The maiden edition of [email protected], which was organized on February 21 this year, saw a rousing response with denizens hitting streets on early morning. The usual busy Bistupur Main Road wore a festive look as people from different walks of life participated in it.
[email protected] day is akin to a street festival with goodies which can be indulged in by the whole family. It will have sporting events like roller skating, badminton, basketball, yoga, cycling, aerobics, golf, carom, aerobics and much more. Together with games, there will be rock bands belching Bollywood songs adding to the Sunday euphoria with selfie corner and cut outs of celebrities born in Jamshedpur, street painting, magic show, zoomba, etc.
To top it all, there will be food stalls offering a variety of morning delights including dosas, golgappas, upma, idli, samosa, kachori sabzee, health drinks and fruits, sandwiches, cakes, pastry, green smoothies, etc.
The various activities lined up for Sunday Hungama includes health – yoga, acupressure, free health checkup, digital health care of TMH, awareness on Ayurveda treatment by Arogya Bhavan, aerobics, walker’s area, general health checkup and blood sugar checkup, acupressure, awareness on road safety and other relevant issues.
Fun and music will include rock band, zoomba, flash dance, selfie, painting, magic show, jugglers, street painting, go carting, sumo boxing, ash painting, pottery making, etc.
In the food section participants can treat themselves and their family and friends to idli, dosa, upma, uttapam, kachori, sabzee and aloo chop, chaat, golgappa, samosa, cutlet, jalibee, sweets, assorted sandwiches, live omelette, coffee cold food, katti rolls, cakes, pastry, muffins patties, fresh fruits, dhokla, poha, khandvi, breads, assorted tea, smoothies and other health drinks, savory pancakes and custards.
According to the organizers, the vehicular movement from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. will be restricted on Bistupur Main Road on Sunday. People wanting to go to railway station will have to take Kharkhai Link Road to reach Kharkhai Bridge and then to Voltas roundabout.
