Jamshedpur, Dec 20: The SDSM School for Excellence organized its 26th Annual Sports Day at the Tinplate Sports Complex on Tuesday, December 19 amidst great excitement and fanfare.
A smart and eye-catching march past by the students of the school’s six houses comprising Mountain, Fire, Sun, Moon, Tree and Cloud provided an apt opening to the excitement lined up for the special day.
The school flag was unfurled and the meet was declared open by the Chairman, SDSM School for Excellence, Diwakar Singh by lighting the flame and releasing the sports day mascot jointly with Principal, Moushumi Das.
The Chairman, in his welcome address, observed, “Sports is a way of life as it inculcates discipline. Winning and losing is a part of life and living and like in sports, these two factors constitute the stepping stones towards progress and success.”
The track and field events opened the lid of shouts that egged on the competitors. At the end of the day, winning individuals and teams exulted but none groused. The spirit of sports prevailed.
Principal, Moushumi Das gave away the prizes that included Best Athlete Award, Best House in march-past, runner-up, Overall Champion and Runner-up Houses. Principal Moushumi Das declared the the School’s 26th Annual Sports meet closed
