SDSM, MNPS, DAV Bistupur advance to semis of Jogga Girls Football Championship

Jamshedpur, Oct 22: The JOGGA Interschool Girls Football Championship kicked off at Armoury Ground on October 22. The championship will continue till October 26.

The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Vibhuti Adesara, Head, Sports Events and Training Centres, Tata Steel in presence of Firoz Khan, Vice President, JOGGA. Around 400 girls from various schools are participating in the tournament.

A total of 14 matches were played on the first day, with both junior and senior girls competing. In the League Matches (Junior Girls): C.P.S Adityapur defeated K.P.S Burmamines 2-0, J.P.S overcame K.H.S 1-0, Blue Bells won against Vikas Vidyalaya 1-0 and D.B.M.S Kadma beat M.N.P.S in a tie-breaker 2-0.

In the senior girls league matches: A.I.W.C beat K.P.S Burmamines 1-0, J.P.S dominated K.P.S Gamharia 3-0, S.D.S.M edged out St. Mary’s Hindi 2-1 in a tie-breaker, D.A.V Bistupur triumphed over R.K.M.S English School in a tie-breaker 2-1.

Quarterfinal Matches (Junior Girls): C.P.S Adityapur won against D.B.M.S Kadma 1-0, J.P.S beat Baridih High School 2-0, R.K.M.S defeated Blue Bells 3-0.

In the senior girls quarterfinal matches S.D.S.M beat J.S.K 2-0, M.N.P.S won against A.I.W.C in a thrilling tie-breaker 3-2, D.A.V Bistupur defeated K.V.G.S 2-0 in a tie-breaker.

With these results, S.D.S.M, M.N.P.S, and D.A.V Bistupur have advanced to the semifinals of the senior category, while the junior category semifinals will feature teams like C.P.S Adityapur, R.K.M.S and J.P.S.
