SDO reviews Chhau promotion proposals

Seraikela: The sub divisional officer of Seraikela and honorary secretary of Government Chhau Ntriya Kala Kendra Sanjeev Kumar Besra today convened a meeting to review work on promotion and preservation of Chhau.

He said a workshop will soon be organized under the aegis of Kala Kendra to promote Chhau and its artists. He said local Chhau artists will be given all possible assistance in organizing the workshop and availing its benefits.

He further said that if funds are not received from the government, the same may be obtained from various banks and companies under CSR activities.

The proposal was welcomed by District Bar Association Vishwanath Rath. The SDO also discussed proposals to give health and insurance coverage to the Chhau artists.

Among those present during the meeting included Tapan Patnayak, Nathu Mahato, Vijay Sahu, Sushant Mahapatra, Harmohan Das, Shyamapad Nand, Mohammad Dildar, KP Dubey, Nirmal Acharya and Madhusudan Mahapatra.
