Scorching heat grips Jharkhand: Jamshedpur records 40.3 Degrees Celsius

Jamshedpur, May 17: Jharkhand, including the Kolhan region, experienced sweltering heat and intense sunlight on Friday, leading to uncomfortable conditions across the state. The highest temperature was recorded in Godda at 42.1 degrees Celsius, followed by Sarayekala at 41.8 degrees Celsius, and West Singhbhum at 38.1 degrees Celsius. In Jamshedpur, the mercury soared to 40.3 degrees Celsius, with the minimum temperature recorded at 28.8 degrees Celsius.

The scorching heat pushed the temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius in nine districts of the state. The Meteorological Department has issued a forecast predicting thunderstorms accompanied by rain in Gumla, Lohardaga, Ranchi, Seraikela-Kharsawan, West Singhbhum, Khunti, East Singhbhum, Bokaro, and Ramgarh districts during the late evening. The wind speed is expected to range between 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.
