School van drivers informed about fire prevention, yoga benefits

Jamshedpur, July 25: Sports Division, Tata Steel organised a programme on “Fire Prevention of Vehicles” and & YOGA Class for good health followed by a 8 x 50 MTR Relay Race contest for the School Van Drivers of Jamshedpur on Monday, July 25 at JRD Tata Sports Complex on the occasion of 112th JRD Tata Birth Anniversary celebrations.

This social and important initiative was taken by the Sports Dept to give awareness and upgrade the knowledge of School Van Drivers about their health and vehicle maintenance . It was started last year.

K C Nayak of Fleet Management Dept. presented a talk to them on “Fire Prevention” and How to maintain Vehicle” and Arvind Prasad demonstrated few Yoga Exercises to them for their good health at JRD Tata Sports Complex. K C Nayak suggested them to maintain their vehicle keeping in mind the word “FLOWER” and follow the process and check your vehicle; F – Fuel L – Light O – OIL W – Wire & Wheel E – Engine R – Regulator.

This was followed by 8 x 50 MTR Relay Race were 11 (eleven) School teams of School Van drivers participated including J H Tarapore, Dhatkidih, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bistupur, NML KPS, Jusco School, Kadma, KPS Kadma, Kasidih High School, Central Public School, Adityapur, Narbheram Hansraj English School, St. Mary’s English High School, SDSM School for Excellence and Jusco School, South Park.

Team from Jusco School South Park, Bistupur won the 8 x 50 MTR Relay Race while Runner Up was SDSM School for Excellence. Narbheram Hansraj English High School team was third. Binod Kumar, DSP (Law & Order) was the Chief Guest and distributed the prizes to winners.

On the occasion Farzan Heerjee, Chief (GR & Sports) and Mukul Vinayak Choudhari, Administrator (TFA &Sports), V Ramakrishna, Sr. Manager (TFA) and Bagicha Singh, Sr. Coach were present. Farzan Heerjee, Chief (GR & Sports) welcomed the Guest and presented him an Indoor Plant Pot and a Memento on behalf of Sports Division.

Binod Kumar, DSP (Law & Order) appreciated the initiative taken by Sports Dept and suggested all the School Van Drivers to drive safely and take care of Children and keep on participating in sporting events to keep yourselves Fit & Happy.

Avinash Kumar, Manager Sports conducted the event with the support of Vivek Sharma, Ajit Singh, L Nageshwar Rao, Hassan Imam, Satish Singh, Punam Kumari, Renu Bhaduria, Arun Sinha, V Ramana and staffs of Sports Dept.
