School students quizzed on safety

Jamshedpur:As part of the Road Safety Week, SAFE, in association with Corporate Safety Tata Steel organised a quiz competition at Michel John Auditorium.

Quiz was based on road, fire, personal, domestic and cyber safety Around 32 teams participated out of which six team cleared the written test. Each school had sent team comprising of a parent, teacher & a student.

Chief guest of the occasion Suresh. D. Tirpathy, vice-president, HRM, Tata Steel shared his experiences in regards to the various safety aspects. He explained that parent’s play a vital role in cultivating safety values in a child.

While addressing the gathering during closing ceremony,Mr. Ashsih Mathur, MD Jusco said that India is the youngest nation in the world with 38% of youth population so it is very important to teach our youth that safety is a way of life.

Jusco School Kadma was the winner of School Safety Quiz 2013, whereas JH Tarapore dhatkidhi was the 1st runner up and DBMS English High School B.H. Area was the second runner up’s.

Shyam Sunder (Chief Safety & Ergonomics) shared his view on the importance of safety values & appreciated the initiative taken up by safe in order to create awareness in the community.
