Jamshedpur, July 31: A school bus carrying children from Netaji Subhash Public School overturned in front of Harina Bukamdih village in Potka. Six children were injured in the accident, with two in critical condition. The injured are receiving treatment at Tata Main Hospital (TMH).
The accident occurred when the driver, reportedly speeding to make up for lost time, lost control of the bus. The bus, with registration number OR 02AN – 2022, had left the school late, prompting the driver to accelerate.
The overturning of the bus caused panic and chaos, with children screaming in distress. Nearby residents rushed to assist, and Kowali police station in-charge Dhananjay Kumar Paswan responded promptly, bringing the injured children to TMH.
Of the approximately 20 children in the bus, six were injured, two of them critically. The condition of the other children was reported to be stable.
