SCCI nomination begins Sept. 15, Election on Sept. 22

Jamshedpur, Sept 7: Stage is set for Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) elections to be held on Tuesday, September 22 at Chamber Bhawan in Bistupur.

Nomination process will start on September 15 and candidates can submit it till September 16. The results will be announced late night on September 22.

Election officer for Chamber election P.S. Jain along with other officers held a press conference on Monday.

They said, on September 10 nomination papers will be made available while on September 15 and 16 candidates can submit the nomination.

On Sept 16 list of contesting candidates will be announced at 8 pm. They further informed that on Sept 19 nomination will be examined and final list of contesting candidates will be announced. On Sept 22 the election will be held from 12 pm to 5 pm.

After the voting counting process will start and around 10 pm the results will be announced on Sept 22. Addressing the press meet, P.S. Jain further said, total of 1380 voters will cast their votes were voters will have to bring their I.D Card from SCCI or PAN Card, Driving license is a must during the day.

They also said, election for 11 Office bearers, 23 committee members and 5 trustees will be held. Present during the press conference were Election officer AK Jain, CA Ramakant Gupta, Sunil Bhalotia were present.

It may also be noted that during the day of election on Sept 22, Annual General Meeting will also be held on the same day from 9.30 am to 11 am. Election officer P.S. Jain said that to have transparent election, CCTV cameras will be put up in voting arenas.

Counting of votes will also held under CCTV surveillance. Generators will also be put up at the event. General Secretary of SCCI Shrawan Kabra said, during AGM on September 22 a proposal will be brought in that only current and former office bearers can contest for the post of President and General Secretary.

After the proposal is passed in AGM this will be added to Chambers� constitution and this proposal will be made effective from October 1, 2015. During the 2017 election this will be implemented.
