Jamshedpur, Nov: Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has demanded that a welfare board for traders be established in Jharkhand. The outfit president Vijay Anand Moonka and honorary general secretary Manav Kedia, in a joint statement, said they had put forth the demand before Chief Minister Hemant Soren in the larger interest of the traders of the state.

“On the lines of a similar arrangement in Haryana, Jharkhand government should establish a traders’ welfare board in the state for the help of traders registered under GST. There is provision to help farmers whose crops get destroyed due to drought or other natural calamities. Their crops are insured by the government. For government employees too, old pension scheme has been restored. But no such decision has been taken for the welfare of traders who pay their taxes irrespective of the condition of the economy or their financial status. The government should insure all GST registered traders,” said Moonka.
