Jamshedpur: The 63rd annual general meeting (AGM) of the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) was held on Saturday at Chamber Bhavan, Bistupur.
The outfit president Suresh Sonthalia and other members spoke on the various activities and achievements of the organization during the period 2013-14. They praised the efforts and cooperation of all members of the organization.
The AGM witnessed a hullaballoo for some time. It was later pacified by the Chamber functionaries.
The audited Income and Expenditure Statement for the period 2013-14 and balance sheet as on 31st March 2014 were presented during the AGM. They were passed with a unanimous resolution.
It was decided to appoint an auditor for the financial year 2014-15 and fix his honorarium. The SCCI members also decided to hold discussion for the proposed amendment of the constitution of the traders� body.
The demand for amendment was also raised during past AGMs. The executive committee members gave their consent to the proposal.
The vice president, trade and commerce, SCCI, Bharat Vasani, and secretary Nitesh Dhoot raised seven demands related to the agriculture market yard, Value Added Tax in Jharkhand, insurance of traders, amendments in the Food Safety and Standard Act (2006), Foreign Direct Investment in retail, safety and security of traders and upgradation of markets. Various other demands were also raised during the AGM.
