Ramgarh, August 23: In a daring heist, unidentified miscreants broke into the State Bank of India (SBI) ATM located at Bazar Tand in Ramgarh and stole Rs 1.31 lakh. The thieves managed to cut through the ATM machine using a gas cutter, disabling the security cameras before making off with the cash.
The incident occurred in a densely populated area of Ramgarh city, where there is constant movement of people and vehicles throughout the day and night. The crime came to light early in the morning when the landlord, upon coming downstairs, noticed the ATM had been severely damaged, with the cash box left wide open. The landlord immediately informed the Ramgarh police, who quickly arrived at the scene and began their investigation.
Initial assessments suggest that the thieves conducted a thorough recce of the area before executing the robbery. They first tampered with the external camera positioned in front of the ATM, then proceeded to damage the internal camera using a gas cutter, ensuring their actions were not recorded. The thieves then used the gas cutter to melt and pry open the ATM’s locker, making off with the entire amount stored inside.
Following the incident, Ramgarh police are thoroughly investigating the matter. They are reviewing footage from CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity and employing advanced technology to track down the culprits responsible for this audacious crime.
