Chandil: The students of Shahid Nirmal Mahto Inter College, Dumdumi who topped the district in intermediate examinations were honoured by legislator and secretary of the institution, Savita Mahto at a function organized in the college campus. Two teachers who retired from service were also honoured with shawls on the occasion.
In her address the legislator observed, �The students are the torchbearers of progress who will, as they move ahead in life, bring name and fame to the panchayat, district, state and country. The teachers are the molders of tomorrow�s nation builders. Their contribution to the allround education of students can never be repaid.�
Savita Mahto assured that she would try to resolve all issues related to education. She wished a bright future for the students.
Those present at the function included College president Haripado Mahto, Principal Nirmal Kumar Mahto, central committee member Patal Mahto, Harekrishna Singh Sardar, Shibu Mahto, Krishna Mahto, Ashok Mahto, students and their parents.
