Saryu Roy receives Environment Conservation honour

Jamshedpur, Jan 16: Jamshedpur East Assembly seat winner Saryu Roy who dethroned former Chief Minister Raghubar Das and came into national limelight was today awarded Environment Conservation honour by Mahatma Gandhi�s grandson Arun Gandhi at Bhikampur in Alwar, Rajasthan. The programme was organized at the main office of Tarun Bharat Sangh founded by �Jal Purush� Rajendra Singh. Incidentally, Saryu Roy has been away from Jharkhand since Sunday last and is expected to return to Jamshedpur on January 19.

Saryu Roy, the independent legislator of Jharkhand attended a get together organized in New Delhi at POSI Club by media persons from Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. BJP�s former think tank Govindacharya, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia and Delhi Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh were also present at the function. Saryu Roy had been associated with the print media and has a good rapport with newspersons. Later Roy proceeded to Rajasthan.

Saryu Roy, on the invitation of Jal Purush Rajendra Singh today participated in a seminar on Ganga Satyagrah organized in Jaipur. Incidentally, Roy had participated in the Rajendra Singh organized Ganga Satyagrah in Haridwar on January 5 and 6 last. Today the seminar discussed measures to ensure purity of River Ganges and keep the momentum of the Satyagrah going. The message of keeping the river clean and pure should be spread among people of every state and region to make them aware of the importance of the purity of this holy river.
