Jamshedpur: The foundation stone for the construction of a hall at Tinplate Andhra Middle School (TAMS) was laid by the Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy on Monday.
The hall will be built at a cost of approximately ₹15 lakh and is funded through the MLA’s Local Area Development Fund. Roy expressed hope that the construction work would start soon. The school will benefit from the hall.
Secretary of Tinplate Andhra Club Shiva Raju said, “This school has been running since October 12, 1965. Thirty-two years ago, work began on building a hall, but construction stopped due to a lack of funds. We are grateful to MLA Saryu Roy for laying the foundation stone for this project.”
The school currently has over 200 children and provides government-sponsored uniforms and midday meals. The institution offers classes up to grade 7.
BJP (M) district president Subodh Srivastava, MLA’s public representative Hara Ram Singh and several club members and local leaders were present at the event.
