Jamshedpur, July 5: Amidst the coronavirus pandemic, Ramarcha Puja was organized at the residence of former state food and civil supplies minister and Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy in Bistupur on the occasion of Guru Purnima on Sunday, July 5. Legislator participated in the rituals along with his family members. With COVID-19 creating havoc only a few were allowed to be part of the religious programme held every year at Roy’s residence.

Unlike previous years, devotees from all over Jharkhand, Bihar and Bengal, VIPs, VVIPs, politicians, many from corporate world attend the religious programme. But this year the Ramarcha Puja was quite a simple affair. Saryu Roy on Saturday announced that arrangements are being made for delivery of prasad to the residence of devotees who come from all over Jamshedpur, neighboring district Seraikela and Chaibasa.

Every year around 25,000 people attended the puja ceremony and receive bhog.
According to religious texts, Ramarcha Puja includes worship of all Gods and Goddesses in the context of Lord Rama and it is believed that all who perform this worship with piety are blessed with fulfillment of their wishes. Religious authorities have stated that among all religious rituals and worship, Ramarcha Puja is the most sacred if performed with purity of heart.
