Jamshedpur, Oct 27: During the Jan Sampark Abhiyan in Jamshedpur, Saryu Roy, the NDA candidate for the Jamshedpur West Assembly seat, made serious allegations against Health Minister Banna Gupta, claiming he provides protection to criminals. Roy stressed the importance of the majority voting as a unified bloc, quoting UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s warning that division would lead to defeat. He pointed out that 93 polling booths in the Mango area belong to the majority community, urging them not to split their votes to ensure victory for the NDA in both the Assembly and the upcoming Mango Municipal Corporation elections.

Roy further highlighted the alarming rise in gang wars within the Kadma and Sonari riverbank settlements, accusing Gupta of fostering fear by meeting with petty criminals. He alleged that these criminals intimidate the poor, warning them against voting. “We will protect the rights of these vulnerable individuals,” he vowed, encouraging the community to confront these threats without fear. Additionally, he addressed the fears of local Marwari businessmen in Sakchi and Bistupur, who face extortion demands, stating that refusal to comply often results in Income Tax complaints. Roy emphasized the need to eradicate this culture of fear and corruption.

Turning his focus to healthcare, Roy criticized Gupta for closing numerous hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic, recounting how Gupta allegedly imprisoned Dr. OP Anand for opposing these closures. He expressed scepticism about Gupta’s emphasis on infrastructure over actual healthcare services, pointing out the newly constructed MGM hospital in Dimna that lacks basic necessities like water supply. “How can treatment be provided in such conditions?” Roy questioned, urging the electorate to unite for change and support the NDA to bring about better governance.
