Jamshedpur, September 29: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy has written to the chief secretary Jharkhand, Sukhdev Singh for intervention in the revival of ailing Incab Industries at Golmuri in Jamshedpur and theft of materials worth billion from it’s plant.
In the letter, Saryu Roy has informed the updated status in the NCLT that the Resolution Professional appointed by NCLT had invited Expression of Interest for the revival of Incab Industries a few days back.
Three industrial units namely Tata Long Products Process Pvt Ltd, Vedanta and A-One Steel Pvt Ltd, a unit of Tata Steel Ltd, showed interest and were found eligible. The resolution professional has sought a concrete proposal from them about the revival of INCAB within a month that is by 23.10.2021. This has raised hopes of a revival of Incab.
“A detailed description of Incab’s assets and liabilities should have been placed before the NCLT or made public by the resolution professional while publishing the Expression of Interest and inviting the concrete proposal for revival. It is known from reliable sources that the resolution professional has not done this. In such a situation, how will the interests of the cable workers be protected in whatever proposal will come from the industrial units interested in the revival of Incab, that is a big question. After considering this, the state government should take concrete steps,” the letter states.
The letter points that the land on which the Incab Industry was established was given by the then Tisco on lease / sublease of 90 years. This lease/sublease has expired in 2019. In such a situation, this land is now in the category of leased land given by the state government to Tata Steel. Tata Steel or any other industrial unit interested in the revival can use this land only with the permission of the state government. In a way, this land is now included in the category of land owned by the state government and the State Government has an important role to play in the implementation of any successful revival proposal of INCAB.
The letter informs that letter have been written to the Director-General of Police, Government of Jharkhand that how heavy machines and other assets of Incab Industries have been and are being stolen.
The letter states that in the last one and a half year, Saryu Roy has raised the issue of revival of Incab and protection of its workers many times before government. Till now no concrete initiative is known from the government to intervene in this matter. Now the time has come that in the interest of the state and labor interest, the state government should initiate a meaningful intervention in this matter so that economic and industrial activities can be started again in Incab.
