Saryu Rai orders makeover for flood prone areas

Jamshedpur, August 5: Food distribution and consumer affairs minister Saryu Rai on Wednesday convened a meeting with various department officials at the circuit house in Jamshedpur.

The meeting tabled several issues pertaining to the flood prone areas of Mango, Kadma, and Sonari and diseases spreading at the aftermath of floods.

Rai said that two high level Special committees have been formed to tackle the issues faced by people of low-lying areas.

The committees formed for the stability of the displaced was reviewed by the minister. The meeting saw representatives from the Swarnrekha project, Mango Notified Area Committee (MNAC) and Jusco.

Rai directed all committees to make a combined developmental plan which could help the victims of flood.

The NAC suggested construction of a guardwall infront of the Intucwell and erecting a system of spurs, so that in future the rising water level doesnot deposit sand in the well.

Regions of Kadma, Sonari & Sashtrinagar will see restructuring of the drainage system. Saryu Rai, Capt.Dhananjay Mishra, Deepak Sahay, Jagdish Yadav, Nazre Imam, P.Kujur, D.K.Pandey and G.K.Bhagat were present at the meeting.
