Jamshedpur: Former MLA and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Saryu Rai today demanded that the food plaza at Kadma be freed from the �possession� of the Jamshedpur West MLA Banna Gupta.
He said the party workers will stage a dharna in Mumbai in case no action was taken against the forced possession of the plaza.
In a statement issued on Friday, Rai said he had talked to the former managing director of Tata Steel HM Nerurkar and other company officials regarding the plaza.
He said he was forced to meet the deputy commissioner today to seek measures to free the plaza from encroachment.
He said the local people are affected by the �encroachment� of the plaza.
He said he will be staging a dharna at the Mumbai headquarters of Tata Sons to free the plaza from the MLA�s �possession�.
