Governor and Hemant Soren pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri
Ranch, October 2: Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais and Chief Minister Hemant Soren paid homage by garlanding the statue of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi at Chotanagpur Khadi Gramodyog Sansthan (Sarvodaya Ashram) at Tiril in Ranchi on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
Hemant Soren stressed on preserving and developing Sarvodaya Ashram at Dhurva in Ranchi, which is associated with Mahatma Gandhi. He has said that the Chotanagpur Khadi Village Industries Institute operating in Tiril Ashram (Sarvodaya Ashram) will be moulded according to the dream of Mahatma Gandhi. It will be made a hub of cottage industry activities.
At the same time, work will also be done to preserve the ashram and develop it as a tourism and research center. This will also create new employment opportunities.
The Chief Minister said that the memories of Bharat Ratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad and Father of the Nation are associated with the Sarvodaya Ashram in Tiril. Chotanagpur Khadi Village Industries was established in this ashram in 1928 due to the good efforts of these two great personalities. The ashram, spread over 24 acres, bears the imprint of the stay of both the nobles. Memories of the freedom movement. Then this ashram also used to be the abode of freedom fighters. From this point of view, this place also has historical importance.
It is worth mentioning that the Tiril Ashram was established by Mahatma Gandhi in 1928 along with Dr Rajendra Prasad. Then it was the center of the freedom fighters. Its historicity will help today’s generation to understand Jharkhand’s cooperation in the country’s freedom movement. Even today, the charkha used by Mahatma Gandhi is present in this ashram. The spacious courtyard of the Tiril Ashram and the statue of Gandhiji welcomes the general public. On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Governor Ramesh Bais and Chief Minister Hemant Soren paid their respects by garlanding the statue of Gandhiji.
Governor Ramesh Bais said that today is the birth anniversary of two great personalities of the country, Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister of the country, Lal Bahadur Shastri.
These two great personalities had given a new direction to the country.
“Mahatma Gandhi, has taught us all that how we can get our words done without violence while Lal Bahadur Shastri had done the work of awakening the spirit of service towards the country among the countrymen. Today the whole world is suffering from the scourge of terrorism. People walking on the path of violence need to understand that there is no place for violence in the interest of the country and society.
He said that Gandhiji’s teachings will continue to pave the way for world welfare till eternity. On this day, we salute the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, the symbol of simplicity and virtue.
On this occasion, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren said that today is a day of coincidence and good fortune that we all are celebrating the birth anniversary of two great personalities of the country, Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister of the country, Lal Bahadur Shastri. Both these great men had dedicated their whole lives to the freedom of the country. These great men showed a direction to the people of the country by which the values of humanity, humanity and democracy could be strengthened.
