Jamshedpur: Archery and boxing competitions were held today as part of the Sansad Khel Mahotsav 2025 in the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency. The archery events took place at the JRD Sports Complex, drawing a large number of participants who competed in the Indian Round. Selected archers from various clubs showcased their skills under the guidance of Dronacharya Awardee and Padma Shri Purnima Mahato.
The competition was inaugurated by Traffic DSP Neeraj, and MP Bidhyut Baran Mahato attended to encourage the participants. At the end of the event, he presented awards and addressed the players, motivating them for future competitions.
In the women’s category, Nirmala Mahato clinched the gold medal, Kajal Mahato won silver, and Alomoni Mahato secured bronze. Among men, Sagen Soren took the gold medal, Sagun Soren the silver, and Akash Mahato the bronze. All winners received trophies, certificates, and prize money in recognition of their performance.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Kulwant Singh Bunty. Other dignitaries present included Deepu Singh, MP representative Sanjeev Kumar, and BJP leaders Nagendra Pandey, Manoj Kumar Singh, Abhay Kumar Chaubey, and Prabhakar, along with several organizers and sports enthusiasts who contributed to the smooth conduct of the event.
