Jamshedpur: Potka MLA Sanjeev Sardar has taken a tough stance regarding the increasing public issues in rural areas adjacent to the city. During a meeting held on Monday at the Jamshedpur Block Auditorium, the MLA stated clearly that solving the massive problems of waste management and drinking water is not something a single department can handle alone.
He emphasized the need for better coordination between the administration, panchayat representatives, and the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department. He directed that a mandatory review meeting be held every month, which he will attend personally.
Relief for Residents: Garbage Collection Issue Raised in Assembly
Regarding waste disposal, MLA Sanjeev Sardar informed that Bagbera Colony Panchayat and Central Bagbera Panchayat have been selected as pilot projects. A survey has already been completed, and residents have agreed to pay a fee for garbage collection.
The MLA, who had vigorously raised this issue in the Legislative Assembly and held multiple discussions with officials, assured that he would personally provide the vehicles for garbage collection in these panchayats. The project is now ready for ground implementation once the official start date is finalized. It was also decided in the meeting that a monthly fee of ₹100 per household would be charged—a proposal that villagers agreed to during the survey.
Mega Water Supply Scheme to Launch by June
Addressing the drinking water crisis, Sanjeev Sardar reiterated that providing clean water is his primary goal. During the meeting, departmental officials assured that the Bagbera Mega Rural Water Supply Scheme would be operational by June at all costs.
The MLA instructed officials to immediately report any technical or administrative hurdles so they could be resolved through coordinated efforts. He noted that better synergy between the department and public representatives is the only way to provide relief from the water crisis.
