Jamshedpur, Jan 18: Demanding flyovers in Steel City, members of Jharkhand Nirman Sangharsh Samiti took out a candle light march near the Statue of Founder Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata situated at Bistupur Roundabout near Gopal Maidan on Sunday.
The march which started from Postal Park in Bistupur travelled to the statue at the roundabout where the members held a prayer meeting. At the event Bunty Sharma, member of the Samiti said that founder JN Tata dreamt of a safe city with wide roads, play grounds and all the civic facilities but the way the city is running his dreams may be shattered.
Today the situation of Jamshedpur is such that the city is getting popular for the number of road accidents. Tata Steel sends a proposal to the state government and in return the govt. again sends the proposal back to the steel major which is taking a toll on the citizens of the Jamshedpur, added Sharma.
Sharma further informed that if any positive step is not taken towards the construction of the flyover, we will celebrate the birth anniversary of JN Tata on March 3 as black day and would protest against the Tata Steel management.
At the event Suraj Harpal, Raju Sinha, Philips John, Pankaj Rajak, Dulari Tirkey, Pushpa Tirkey and several others were present.
