Samadhan rally to make Jharkhand drug free

Jamshedpur, April 18: Voluntary Organisation Samadhan on Monday launched campaign to make Jharkhand drug free. Several social organizations actively participated in the drug awareness rally to make city, state and country drug free.

The rally kicked off from Aambagan in Sakchi before terminating at Sakchi roundabout where several people to help make Jharkhand drug free.

At the event people were made aware of the ill effects of drug use. Women, students holding banners and posters informed the people not to use drugs.

Civil Surgeon Shyam Kumar Jha was the chief guest of the event and flagged off the rally. He also appealed the youths not to use drugs and stay away from its addiction. The event was organized by Poonam Vig, president of Samadhan.

Chief patron of Samadhan, Dinesh Kumar said, the drug free campaign will reach every village and the foundation of it has been laid in the district.

We all need to be drug free because (drugs) are bad for our bodies and minds, he said. Besides, they make the community look bad, and if we don`t get rid of them, we won`t have a community.

The initiative comes in the wake of the increasing use of dangerous drugs by youngsters in the city
Present at the event was Harjeet Bhatia, Kuljeet Sadana, Beena Khirwal, Amita Mahendru, Sunita Sachdev, Chandana Sarkar, Ruchita Vig, Anjali Singh, Nida Siddique, Madhu Prasad, Ajay Singh, Ankit Anand and others were present.
