Jamshedpur: City-based social organization Samadhan launched its ongoing Go Green campaign in Ratan Bag, Jugsalai on Wednesday. The birthday of the outfit member Ankit Anand was also celebrated on the occasion.
The outfit president Poonam Vig said celebrating birthday by planting trees would greatly boost the environment conservation efforts going on all over the world. She said a public awareness campaign had been launched to request people to do plantation on birthdays and other special occasions. Samadhan has planted 975 trees in the last two months, she said, adding that very soon the target of planting 1008 trees would be achieved by the outfit members.
Among others present on the occasion included the outfit patron Dinesh Kumar, Beena Khirwal, Harjeet Bhatia, Poonam Sahu, Sunita Sachdev and Ashish Gulati.
