Jamshedpur, July 19: The Sainya Matri Shakti Jamshedpur Mahotsav, under the banner of Akhil Bharatiya Poorva Sainik Seva Parishad (ABPSSP), was held on Saturday at K-79 Restaurant. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the wives of ex-servicemen, who gathered in large numbers to celebrate the Sawan Mahotsav.
The event began with a floral tribute and lamp lighting ceremony before the image of Bharat Mata, followed by a warm welcome and felicitation of new women members of the organization. The program was conducted by President Ruby Singh, who shared the objectives of the gathering. Introducing the theme, Vineeta emphasized that a blend of modern living and military values could inspire positive societal change, urging attendees to nurture such values in their families.
The vibrant celebration featured several cultural programs, including dance, music, and fashion shows. Women, dressed in green sarees to mark the spirit of Saawan, applied mehendi, danced to festive songs, and participated in various competitions. The festivities included a dance contest, a mehendi competition, and the crowning of the “Saawan Queen,” judged by Purbi Ghosh and Veena Pandey.
Anupam Singh highlighted the spiritual significance of the Saawan month and India’s rich tradition of celebrating festivals with devotion and joy. She noted that such gatherings bring energy and awareness, fostering a connection between military families and the civilian community, while promoting Indian culture and traditions.
