Sahastraghat Jalabhishek amidst Vedic chants at Sakchi Shiv Mandir

Jamshedpur, July 30: The annual ritual of bathing Lord Shiva in the Vedic norm of Sahastraghat Jalabhishek in the holy month of Sawan was observed today at the Sakchi Shiv Mandir amidst the chanting of Vedic hymns by 13 adept priests. Acharya Vipin Jha supervised the rituals as thousands of devotees thronged the temple to participate in the holy proceedings.

The hosts for this annual holy observance were Shankar Lal Agrawal, Manoj Kumar, Umesh Sah, Girdhari Khemka, Kamal Chowdhary, Sanjay Agrawal, Suresh Agrawal along with their wives. They performed worship of Lord Shiva, His consort Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesh, Lord Kartick and Nandishwar while mantras were being chanted from Yujur Veda.

The worship commenced at 10 am and the Jalabhishek was performed at 2 pm. Maha Arti commenced from 5 pm. Consecrated offerings were distributed among thousands ofe devotees from 7:30 pm till 11 pm. Devotees poured water on the Shiva Lingam and prayed for peace and prosperity.

The Sakchi Shiv Mandir committee that organized the whole programme comprised Subhash Sah, Bablu Agrawal, Omprakash Ringasia, Bajrang Lal Agrawal, Sanwarmal Agrawal, Mohit Sah, Tushar Jindal, Amar Agrawal, Girdhari Lal Khemka, Mahesh Agrawal, Kamlesh Chowdhary, Pawan Khemka, Naresh Agrawal, Mahesh Agrawal, Shyam Sunder Moonka, Mohit Moonka, Ankit Moonka, Manoj Kumar Agrawal, Rishabh Moonka, Shubham Debuka, CL Gothwal, Amit Sah, Vicky Agrawal, Akshay Agrawal, Abhay Naredi, Aman Khemka and other members.
