Jamshedpur, Aug. 2: Kerala Public School (KPS) Kadma celebrates Safety Week from Aug 2 to 4. “PAUSE-LOOK-ACT: No substitute to safety”, the event was inaugurated by Chandra Sharan, senior manager, Corporate Safety & Health, Tata Steel, who graced the occasion as the chief guest. The program commenced with the hoisting of the safety flag and a prayer song by the school choir.
Principal Sharmila Mukherjee formally welcomed the chief guest and emphasized on the role and importance of safety in the lives of every individual followed by the annual safety report. T-shirts were distributed to the ‘sarthis’, the vehicle drivers who further took a pledge on safety.
Safety is indeed the priority of everyone and its awareness was spread through a ‘Nukkad Natak’ by the avid students. The safe club students tied self-made friendship bands on the wrist of drivers celebrating the true relationship with them and card with emergency numbers of the city was also given to each driver.
Safe Club moderator Purba Moitra announced the upcoming events for the week which comprised a series of Inter KPS competitions like cartoon drawing, poetry writing, quiz and story writing on the theme “School Safety”.
The students were highly motivated by the chief guests’ address on safety. Badges and certificates were handed over to the students of the safe club.
There is indeed no substitute to safety as it’s always better to be safe than sorry. To spread the awareness on safety, the events aligned for the next three days are first aid training, fire drill, safety audit CPR.
The program drew to its closure with the delivery of the vote of thanks by Harmit Pal, Vice Principal, Kerala Public School, Kadma.
