Jamshedpur, March 11: Tata Steel today organized the closing ceremony of National Safety Week at Steelinium Hall. Suresh Kumar, VP, Shared Services.

Tata Steel graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. R Ravi Prasad, President, TWU graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour A brief report on National Safety Week celebration was given by V N Gaikwad, Chief, Safety, Tata Steel, India & South East Asia. The new ENSAFE system and e learning module was inaugurated by Suresh Kumar, VP, Shared Services. Tata Steel.

Congratulating the winners of the National Safety Week Kumar said �Safety is every individual�s responsibility, and we all should imbibe this in our behavior. We need to do a lot in the area of safety. Along with safety, health has also become a major focus area which will not only benefit the individual but Company as well� Besides this he also stressed on Road Safety, Contractor Safety & Management of change etc.

The National Safety Week was launched in Tata Steel, Jamshedpur on 4th March, 2016. A hazard hunt programme and online quiz on MOC was conducted on 7th March, 2016. A total of 120 hazards were identified and 95 hazards were eliminated during the programme.

A joint mass communication programme and fire safety quiz was organized on 8th March, 2016. The progarmme was also attended by Mr Sunil Bhaskaran, VPCS, Tata Steel & General Secretary, TWU.

A quiz on gas safety at HHO and online quiz on electrical safety was conducted on 9th March, 2016. A health awareness programme known as �Wellness at Workplace� was organised on 10th March, 2016 at Steelinium Hall
The programme ended with a prize distribution ceremony.

The prize for �Best Loco Drivers� was given to Mr Mr. D.S. Rao , CSD, Tata Steel & Mr Ranjit Songiri, LD#1, Tata Steel. The �Best Heavy Vehicle Drivers �was given to Mr Dharmendra Pandey of M/s Gaurav Enterprises, Mr. G.H.Behra, of M/s N.Kumar and Mr. Somnath Mahadani, of M/s United Air Express.

First prize for the Hazard Hunt programme was won by procurement and second prize was won by LD#1. First prize for �Best E CAUP� was won by Lime sample collection (Lime plant) and second prize by Tyre Dismantling (Joda)
The prize for best model work place (outlocation) was won by Khondbond Iron Mine �Sample processing unit�- OMQ and second prize was given to Central Workshop- Jharia division.

The first prize for the winner of fire safety was won by Mr Mr. Pramod Kumar, Noamundi and the second prize was won by Mr. Rajesh Mohanty, CRM.

The prize for best model workplace, Jamshedpur was won by LD#3& TSCR �Finishing and Shipping area� and the second prize was given to �Sinter plant#1 Mechanical maintenance �Spares yard 1,2 & 3�.

First prize for best in �Contractor Safety Management� was given to HBF and second prize was given to Engineering services, Noamundi.

The winners of online safety quiz were Mr Mr. Pramod Kumar, Noamundi and the second prize was given to Mr. Kousik Chandra, Iron & Steel Electrical Maintenance.

The winners of online safety quiz on electrical safety was won by Mr Saihoon Soy, Mobile Equipment (MA), Noamundi and the second prize was won by Mr Pramod Kumar, Manager, Maintenance, Noamundi.

Some of the other prizes included �Best Division in Health Index in FY 15, Jamshedpur�. This prize was won by SS Division Best Divison in Health Index in FY 15, out location.

This was won by Jharia Divison Best faculty for �JAGARAN� since its inception in 2012 was given to Mr Arvind Prasad
