Jamshedpur, April 17: Tata Steel and SAFE Club today organised online refresher training on fire and emergency management during disaster for teachers of various schools in Jamshedpur.
The training was participated by total 130 SAFE coordinators and teachers trained earlier as master trainers on emergency management during disasters. The participant were from Loyola School, Jusco School South Park, Jamshedpur Public School, JH Tarapore schools Agrico, AIWC, School of Excellence, KSMS, SDSM, KPS, DBMS, Xavier Schools Gamharia etc.
Chairperson of SAFE Ruchi Narendran shared her view on importance of such refresher course for master trainers and teachers. She called upon all the Principals, SAFE Coordinators and Teachers to train other teachers and students to build in-house capabilities of schools to manage golden hour after a crisis effectively to prevent loss of life, injury and assets.
She also called upon all the Principals to formulate School Disaster Management Plan, form various sub committees and augment their preparedness to deal with any unforeseen contingencies effectively.
Gopal Prasad Choudhary, Chief security & Brand protection Tata Steel shared the statistics on accidents and their causes in India, importance of augmented preparedness by Schools to prevent and manage any emergency situation and assured to work with SAFE Club to extend all the requires support on capacity building.
Dr James Jojo, Consulting Surgeon, TMH and Master Trainer on Disaster Management made presentation on Medical First Response during emergency situations to prevent accidents and manage them effectively as first responder during golden hour.
Abhay Ranjan, Assistant Manager, Fire Service and a Master Trainer on Disaster Management made presentation on causes of fire, preventive measures, management of fire as first responder and casualty transportation.
Queries of the participants on Fire safety, Medical First response and prevention from Covid-19 were answered by the panellists.
