Jamshedpur: Sadar Hospital situated at Khasmahal near Tatanagar railway station is all set to be equipped with modern amenities very soon.
District administration of East Singhbhum has set the ball rolling for improving existing facilities and introducing new ones in the hospital.
Amit Kumar, deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum, who paid a surprise visit to the hospital, said he had inspected the existing facilities in the hospital and was sure the same would be upgraded soon enough.
“We want this Sadar Hospital to get modern medicare facilities as soon as possible. Patients will be able to get the maximum benefit if all basic amenities are there. Available resources will be upgraded to achieve this end. If need arises, officials of various departments will be apprised of the requirements for basic facilities,” said the DC.
The DC directed the building construction department engineer to repair plaster on walls and ceilings.
District civil surgeon Dr SK Jha told the DC about the blood bank which was yet to be handed over to the hospital. “The blood bank is ready but yet to be handed over to us,” he said.
Jha further said that the quarters of doctors were unoccupied as power connection was not given to them as yet.
The DC said the demand of civil surgeon will be fulfilled.
He inspected the emergency ward, nursing room, radiology room, ECG room, pathology centre, laboratory, operation theatre, gynaecology, physiotherapy and vaccination departments. He also inspected bio medical waste disposal facility, toilet, drinking water and other facilities.
The DC inquired about the number of patients coming to the Ayush department to benefit from Ayurveda and homoeopathy.
He said the Ayurveda system of medicine should be publicized among the people. He also advised increasing the number of dustbins in the hospital.
