Violet Squad crowned overall champion, Jiya Dugar best outgoing athlete
Jamshedpur, Dec 11: After a hiatus of two years due to the lingering fear of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sacred Heart Convent School organized one of its most signature events on Sunday. The Annual Sports Meet embodies the zeal, talents and spirit of sportsmanship of the students of Sacred Heart Convent School, encouraging them to be persistent and to refine their talents, achieving the greatest of the heights.
The school organised 71st Annual Sports Meet on December 11 at Sumant Moolgaokar Stadium in Telco amidst great mirth, verve and camaraderie.

The Chief Guest gracing the event was Ashish Kumar, CEO, Hockey Ace Foundation and Head Sports, Tata Steel.
The event witnessed a spectacular demonstration of true sportsmanship. School Principal Sister Rashmita A.C. extended a floral and formal welcome to the Chief Guest.

This was entailed by hoisting the School Flag and releasing of the balloons to mark the expression of joy and mirth.
The Sports Meet was declared open by the Chief Guest. This was followed by a spectacular and well synchronized March Past by the four squads. The parade was led by the School President-Harshada Parashar.

This is the international year of “Basic Sciences and Sustainable Development”. The formation by the students depicted the logo of Sustainable Development Goal Seven, which is to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.
The most intriguing aspect, embellishing the event was the Karate Display. Subsequently a Drill Display involving mass student participation, splattered on the field resplendent hues.

The Display included ‘Colours of Life’ by Classes 1 and 2,’Floral Fantasy’ by Classes 3, 4 and 5 and ‘Wings of Myriad Dreams’ by Classes 6, 7 and 8.
This entailed various track events. The Tug O’ War is an event which demands brute strength, sheer endurance and an excellent team coordination, was definitely the most anticipated event of the day.The competition was between the four squads-Crimson,Gold,Green and Violet

A strong concluding message of camaraderie and unity was delivered by the final march past for the closing ceremony which recharged the audience. Upnext, the Chief Guest was invited to give away the prizes and felicitate the rightful winners with medals and certificates of excellence.

Violet Squad was crowned the overall champion and Green Squad was declared best disciplined. Best outgoing athlete for Plus 2 is Jiya Dugar. Gold squad was the winner of the March Past. Sonalika Das (Class IX-X) and Jiya Dugar (Class XI-XII) won the individual championship.
Beating of the Retreat marked the splendorous end of the day.
