Jamshedpur: Abha Vishwakarma, senior Economics teacher of S.D.S.M. School for Excellence has won the Teaching Excellence Award 2018 by S. Chand Group of Publications held at New Delhi at the Progressive Teachers’ Conclave in the category of “Effective Lesson Planning”.
Over 1000 applications in various categories such as innovative teaching practices in English, Hindi, Social Science, other languages, Mathematics etc. at primary, middle and secondary level were submitted.
Abha is the only teacher from Jamshedpur and Jharkhand to have bagged this prestigious award. In total 77 teachers were shortlisted from all over the country for the awards.

Mousami Das, Abha learnt about “Strategy Planning” which she incorporates when planning her lessons which has been very effective in the teaching-learning process.
It has reflected in excellent performance of students in the board examination. She is grateful to the Chairman of this school Diwakar Singh for his constant support in her endeavours.
