Chennai/Ranchi : International Engineering Sourcing Show (IESS) VIth edition is being organised in Chennai by Export Engineering Promotion Council of India (EEPC) during 16 to 18 March supported by Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
The event is marked by Global Investment Forum, B2B/B2G meetings and large display of engineering products and services. This is one of the flagship sourcing event in India � showcasing the latest technologies and a preferred meeting place for global buyers & sellers. Government of Jharkhand participated in the event as a Partner State. Russia is the partner country for the event.
The IESS VI was inaugurated by Minister of State (IC) Commerce and Industry Government of India Nirmala Sitharaman
Sunil Kumar Barnwal, secretary, Industry Mines & Geology and IT Government of Jharkhand attended the event as the Special Speaker in Global Investment Forum.
A team comprised of representatives from EY and AIADA, Department of Industry also participated in the event
An exclusive session on Investment was organised during the event which was attended by Mr. Jayant Nadiger Trade & Investment Commissioner of Flanders Belgium, Government of Flanders. Mr. Filippe De Potter Deputy Director Inward Investment Government of Flanders. Mr. Timur Andreev, Tataratra Region of Russia. Mr. Ivan Kamen�k, Head of Trade Mission Bengaluru, CzechTrade. Mr. John Kottayil, Executive Director, State of Bavaria India Office and representatives from JETRO, India.
The event witnessed a gathering of about 80-100 participants from industry, academia, policy makers, press and media. The eclectic congregation discussed various investment opportunities in their respective regions and possible avenues of mutual cooperation in the areas of trade and business.
Barnwal made an elaborate presentation to the audience about the friendly business climate in State of Jharkhand and thriving opportunities for engineering industries in Jharkhand. He emphasized, “Jharkhand given its natural advantage of being blessed with mineral resources, skilled human resources, readily available market, robust policies and visionary leadership that makes Jharkhand as one of the most progressive state from the investment stand point.”
In his presentation he also elaborated the positioning of Jharkhand as manufacturing destination from the standpoint of exports to ASEAN region through upcoming Multimodal logistics part along national waterway no-1 in Sahibgunj Jharkhand.
Govt. of Jharkhand has also set up a pavilion at the venue to showcase its strengths to visiting investment fraternity. Post the State session the delegation interacted with prospective investors during the business to govt.
session and met several participants at the venue and briefed the potential investors about the available opportunities in Jharkhand.
The pavilion is witnessing a regular footfall and helping the inquisitive visitors to know more about the state and friendly industrial climate under the able leadership of Raghubar Das.
Barnwal also conducted several business to Government meeting with Russian firms such as MASSA LLC, MIYOTA, AKIS tech, Poliplast ltd. The Russian firm is interested to set up wagon manufacturing plant in Jharkhand he invited them to come to Jharkhand and submit their business proposal.
