Runaway woman safely rescued from Howrah–Mumbai Duronto Express

Kharagpur,: A runaway woman was safely detected and assisted during a routine journey-cum-ticket checking drive on Train No. 12262 Howrah–Mumbai AC Duronto Express on December 17, 2025. The woman was identified by Ticket Checking Inspector (TTI) A.R. S. Rao while he was performing his official duties onboard the train.

Noticing her vulnerable condition, the TTI immediately took steps to ensure her safety and informed the concerned railway authorities without delay. Upon the train’s arrival at Tatanagar station, the woman was safely handed over to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) for further assistance, counselling and necessary action as per established procedures.

Railway officials said the alertness and presence of mind shown by the onboard staff helped prevent any untoward incident. Indian Railways reiterated its commitment to passenger safety, security and humanitarian care, especially for vulnerable individuals travelling on its network.
