Run special campaigns for Aadhaar enrolment: CS

Ranchi, Oct. 5: Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma today called on state government agencies and anganwadi sevikas to run special campaigns in all districts to connect people with Aadhaar Number.

She said that camps should be held for the purpose. �All district welfare officers have been told that the department should send the lists of all Aadhaar Numbers rejected from July onward and ensure that their registration takes place,� said Verma while reviewing the work and performance of the Women, Child Labour and Social Security Department.

The CS said that anganwadi sevikas should ensure Aadhaar enrolment and achieve the target set for the job. She expressed discontent over the slow progress of Aadhaar enrolment in Bokaro, Giridih, Sahibganj, Chatra, Ranchi and West Singhbhum.

She said that the role of all anganwadi sevikas and district planning officers should be defined. All play schools and nursery schools should be enlisted and Aadhaar enrolment of all children from 0-5 years should be ensured.

Verma said the anganwadi sevikas would be responsible for getting people enrolled with Aadhaar Number. �The anganwadi sevikas will have to make sure the collection of Aadhar cards from all panchayat post offices and distribution of the same among the people.

The department has issued a directive that the details of Aadhar cards should be available with the anganwadi sevikas or block level offices so that people may benefit from schemes,� she said.

The CS said that tabs and machines will be provided to the various districts very soon.

Principal Secretary Mukhmeet Singh Bhati and many other officials were present on the occasion.
