RSB Adityapur, Sersa Chakradharpur continue dominant run in JSCA Inter-Institutional T-20 Tournament

Chaibasa, June 12: In an exciting showdown at Birsa Munda Cricket Stadium ground, RSB Transmission Adityapur and Sersa emerged victorious in their respective matches during the JSCA Inter-Institutional T-20 tournament. The event, organized under the supervision of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association, saw the Chakradharpur team maintain their winning streak by defeating Rungta Mines Chaibasa and Mishrilal Jain Group Chaibasa. Both teams now stand with four points each, setting the stage for an intense clash between them tomorrow. The winner of this match will secure a spot in the Super Division.

The tournament, hosted by the West Singhbhum District Cricket Association, kicked off with the captain of RSB winning the toss and electing to field first. Rungta Mines, the opposition team, posted a challenging total of 224 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted twenty overs. Jayprakash Rajput showcased an outstanding unbeaten innings of 80 runs, smashing eight fours and six sixes. Captain Anurag Sanjay contributed 54 runs, comprising six fours and four sixes. Rahul Lakra’s quick-fire knock of 40 runs off just 21 balls, including four fours and three sixes, added to the team’s score. Other notable contributions came from Kumar Karan (20 runs), Karthik Krishna (14 runs), and Arvind Kumar (13 runs). Nishikant Kumar took two wickets for RSB, conceding 49 runs, while Vishal Singh, Chandan Mukhi, and Ajay Sonu claimed one wicket each.

RSB Transmission displayed remarkable batting prowess as they chased down the mammoth target of 225 runs in just 17.3 overs, losing only three wickets along the way. Shubham Singh, the opening batsman, stole the show with a brilliant century knock of 115 runs, which included seven fours and eleven sixes. Bhanu Anand, the other opener, also contributed significantly with 81 runs, comprising five fours and eight sixes. Their exceptional partnership of 158 runs for the first wicket propelled the team into a commanding position. Captain Vishal Singh added 21 runs to the total. Abhishek Kachhap of Rungta Mines accounted for all three wickets that fell from RSB.

In the second match of the day, Sersa Chakradharpur emerged victorious against Mishrilal Jain Group, clinching a four-wicket win. Mishrilal Jain Group won the toss and chose to bat, amassing 140 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their stipulated 15 overs. Opening batsman Himanshu Gupta led the charge with a top score of 58 runs, smashing five fours and four sixes. David Sagar Munda displayed an aggressive innings, scoring 42 runs off just 17 balls, including four fours and four sixes. Tanmay Tantubai (18 runs) and Gaurav Singh (10 runs) contributed valuable runs in the lower order. Himanshu Sharma stood out for Sersa Chakradharpur, claiming three wickets for 25 runs, while Walter Toppo took two wickets for 22 runs. Amit Das also secured a wicket.

Sersa Chakradharpur comfortably chased down the target of 141 runs in 15 overs, losing six wickets in the process. Opening batsmen Sunny Sachin Tiwary and Nityanand provided a solid foundation by both scoring impressive half-centuries. Their excellent partnership of 112 runs for the first wicket came to an end when Nityanand departed after contributing 55 runs, featuring six fours and four sixes. Sunny Sachin Tiwary also played a valuable inning of 52 runs, comprising four fours and four sixes.

Mishrilal Jain Group’s bowling effort was led by Nikhil Tiwari, who claimed two wickets, conceding twenty runs, while captain Gaurav Singh took two wickets for 31 runs. Lalit B Singh and Mukesh Kumar secured one wicket each. The consecutive victories for RSB Adityapur and Sersa Chakradharpur have positioned them strongly in the tournament, setting the stage for an enthralling clash between the two teams in their upcoming encounter.
