Jamshedpur, Oct. 11: CM Raghubar Das on Friday launched the distribution of Rs 452 crore in the account of nearly 11.51 lakh marginalized farmers of the state who had been left out from receiving the first installment of the Mukhiya Mantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojna (given to over 13 lakh farmers on August 10) at a function held at Tata College Ground at Chaibasa in West Singhbhum.

Sharing the plans of the Government for farmers, Das said that under the Chief Minister’s Krishi Ashirwad Yojna (MMKAY), financial assistance of Rs. 5000 per acre will be given to farmers. Under this scheme, farmers of having less than 5 acres and less than one acre of land will be covered. With the amount of grant given to farmers, they will be able to purchase useful items like fertilizers, seeds and other agricultural needs. The government will spend Rs 2,000 crore on this scheme.
Significantly, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) an initiative announced during the 2019 interim Union budget on February 1 benefits will be provided to all small and marginal farmers families having total cultivable holdings of up to 2 hectares (5 acres). This will be provided in 3 equal installments of Rs 2000 each over a period of every four months in a financial year.
In Jharkhand, Mukhiya Mantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojna, announced by Raghubar Das in December 21 last year is integrated with PM-Kisan scheme. Under Mukhiya Mantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojna, state farmers will get Rs 5000 per acre for their kharif crops. Nearly 35 lakh farmers have been identified on the basis of 2015-16 agriculture census.
Taking a dig at Congress, Das said that the party had lost its connect amongst the masses, both, at the center and in the state as it was only interested in clinging to power.
Highlighting the achievements of his government in the last four and half years, the Chief Minister said, We have constructed nearly 2,445 kms of roads in the last four and half years, 32,000 villages now have street lights, Sakhi Mandals (women self help groups) have been empowered through various schemes as part of women empowerment and from November 1 the ready to eat foods for lactating mothers and children would be prepared by Sakhi Mandals. We have introduced Mukhiya Mantri Sukanya Yojna and we are the only state to provide second LPG refill cylinders free as part of Ujjwala Yojna. The Krishi Ashirwad Yojna has brought sunshine in the lives of lakhs of poor farmers.
Das said that both the central and state governments were determined to fulfill their commitment of not letting anybody remain homeless by 2020. You have blessed the Central government in 2019 Lok Sabha elections and we seek your blessings in Assembly polls too for a stable and strong government.
