Rs 32 lakh siphoned off from Ramgarh DMFT account

Ranchi: Swindlers withdrew a whopping sum of Rs 32.21 lakh from the district mineral foundation trust’s (DMFT) account with Bank of India’s (BOI) Chatti Bazaar branch in Ramgarh town using a cloned cheque. The senior branch manager has lodged an FIR with Ramgarh police station against three persons.
Chandan Kumar, DC, Ramgarh, said that taking cognizance of the incident, they have cancelled a whole series of cheque books issued to DMFT by the bank.

“The police are investigating the issue,” he said. Rohit Kumar, OC of Ramgarh police station, said senior branch manager of BOI’s Ramgarh branch, Nalini Sinha, has filed a written complaint against the fraudsters who used cloned cheque. “An FIR has been lodged against them under relevant IPC sections,” he said
